On Reflection:
When you look into the mirror, what do you see?
I see a face that looks a whole lot like me.
This is because a mirror shows a reflection,
An image that can cause some serious introspection.
It allows each person to see his or her own face,
A part of the body that is a most interesting place.
So often we just put on masks
As we go about performing our daily tasks.
But when we stop and take a look into our own eyes
There are thoughts and emotions we cannot disguise.


On Love:
When I look into your eyes
I am forced to realize
That a mystery to me
Is what you'll always be.
You're an entire separate being, full of hopes and dreams,
Someone I'll never know completely, no matter what it seems.
Even if you tell me what you're all about,
I know I'll never fully know you, inside and out.
I guess all I can do
Is just accept and love you
For being that and nothing more... for you just being you.

Bad Puppy!

I do not like you,
Puppy who ate my shoe.
I left you alone
To chew on your dog bone,
But I guess you got sad
And decided to be bad.
I hope you at least had fun
Reducing two to one.
Now my favorite pair
I can no longer wear.
I really miss that shoe,
And I do not like you.

Just Do It

Wishing:
It won't get you anywhere.
Doing:
Now that will get you somewhere.
Where do you want to go? What do you want to do?
Think about it; apply yourself; no one else can do it but you.
Don't be scared if you have failed before,
Maybe you just hadn't quite figured out what to work towards.
And even if you had,
Sometimes things just go bad.
But you have to get back in the game,
Because no two days are ever exactly the same.
Go for your dreams!
Life may not always be what it seems,
But unless you take the first step, unless you try,
How will you ever learn to be free, learn to fly?
Today, I leave you with this dare:
Live as though this day is your last, live as though you really care!
